New build Operations & Maintenance Hub for ScottishPower Renewables Offshore Wind Farm
NRS Group are the design and build contractors for this 25 Million flagship project at Associated British Ports’ Hamilton Dock in Lowestoft. The hub will serve as the base for marine operations, specialist offices and warehousing, and will house about 100 full-time employees upon completion.
The project involves the installation of 102 wind turbines approximately 30 miles off the coast. Onshore construction work for the cable route and substation is already underway and the first turbines are expected to be installed next year.
The wind farm should be fully operational in 2020 and is planned to meet the annual electricity demands of the equivalent of almost 600,000 homes.
